Post-Italy Depression

Jeans+Shirt+Shoes: Urban Outfitters // Kimono: Free People
It has officially been 22 days since I have left Italy, and I couldn’t be more sad about it. I can honestly say it is the weirdest feeling being back in America. Everything feels so different! It’s really hard to explain, but basically my body longs for Italian air (super cheesy, but so true). I have to catch myself from daydreaming about what I would be doing in Italy if I were still there… who I would be with, what I would be eating and what beautiful buildings I would be walking by. Although I wish I could have stayed forever (not even joking), I had to come back for my best friend’s wedding, my internship with Macy’s and classes (unfortunately).  In my hopes to keep living the Italian lifestyle, on my day off I decided to explore the Tampa/St. Pete area and check out Oxford Exchange and the Dali Museum. Finding cool coffee shops, bookstores, museums and hipster restaurants is probably one of my favorite things to do. Here are a few pictures I took from my adventures! Thanks for stopping by my blog and supporting me through my post-Italy depression (I’m dyinggg). Xoxo Kendall

Capri, Italy

Dress-Free People// Kimono-Free People

This weekend was probably my most awaited visit specifically because I just really love being by the water. Although a multitude of things seemed to go wrong, I honestly had one of the best times of my life. I mean this whole trip has really been such a crazy experience like one you see in a movie and think you will never have for yourself. You don’t think being in another country for a month will really change you until you actually go. Not to get too sappy, but I have met so many people that I couldn’t imagine not knowing (if that makes sense). My roommates and close friends on the trip are seriously amazing people. Although I wish we all met sooner, I know our friendship will continue to grow (and get weirder lol) once we are back at school. I could go on and on about this but lets not get crazy. The Boboli Gardens

Romper-Free People// Sweater- Free People

If you want to feel like a fairytale princess, you must go to the Boboli Gardens at the Piti Palace. The greenery is perfectly sculpted, the flowers are beautifully bloomed and the view is unreal. If it wasn’t 10 euros, I would go there everyday to read a book and have a picnic on the lawn. Its just one of those places that makes you feel so relaxed. If I were here for longer, I would definitely make a trip back. Xoxo Kendall

the Duomo

Dress + Jacket (similar)- Free People

Have you ever seen something so beautiful it takes your breath away? That’s how I felt walking up to the Duomo.  After my first day of class (wait I’m not just here to eat pasta and drink wine?), some of my classmates and I decided to check out the Duomo while we had free time. After walking up 463 steps to the top of the dome, we stood in amazement at the panoramic view of our city, the city we will be living in for the next 4 weeks! I could have stood there for hours admiring the different landmarks of the city. Its crazy to think that just two weeks ago I was stressing about finals and now I’m in this city where life is so laid back and carefree. Its so often that we are always planning and preparing for our future that we forget to stop and see what’s in front of us, right now. When I’m getting too caught up with life and stressing about what lies ahead, I need to remind myself about my time spent at the Duomo and life will all seem to be okay again. mi dispiace

In my head as I imagined Florence I knew it would be totally different than what I’m used to, but I had no idea it would be this magical. By magical I mean everything has character, a story and some sort of history behind it. Although almost everyone speaks English (or at least some), I’m trying to speak as much Italian as I can, which is quite challenging considering I literally knew nothing before coming here. My favorite phrase is “mi dispiace” or “I’m sorry” because somehow I am always running into someone or blocking walkways (and getting cursed at by old Italian men lol). Today we had orientation and a walking tour to help us find our way around a little easier. Macarena and I also found a super cute lunch spot called La Bruschetteria that we will definitely be spending a lot of time at. And of course we ended our night with some gelato, tonight’s flavor “cookies”. Yummmmm! Xoxo Kendall

Baby It's Cold Outside

I don't know about you but I've been really digging the cooler weather here in Florida. Its a rare occasion, but recently the temperatures here have been in the 30's and 40's (say whattttt). Now, for me that is freezing! Usually I dread cold weather, but lately I've been loving more layered looks and now is definitely the time to rock them! I am still finding ways to make some of my summer pieces work for the winter which is only natural for a born and raised Florida girl but hey, I'm having fun doing it (which is all that matters). Although I am super excited for spring and summer, I'm making the most of these last few weeks of chilly weather and bundling up in my favorite sweaters and booties. As always, thanks for stopping by. xoxo Kendall P.S. You can also check out this post on CollegeFashionista and be sure to #Rad it!
